Send a Girl to Camp

Together, we can make sure no girl misses out!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

Summer has officially come to an end, and with it, another incredible season of our summer camp! Each week, our Newmarket and Aurora camps were fully booked with eager campers ready to learn, play, and make memories.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we were able to provide 105 subsidised weeks of camp, ensuring more girls had the chance to experience the joy and growth that camp brings. This included 14 teens who participated in our Leader-in-Training (LIT) program, building leadership skills, confidence, and friendships that will last far beyond the summer.

In addition, for the second year in a row, we partnered with the York Catholic District School Board to host a mental health summer camp for Catholic school students. Held over two weeks, one in Sutton and one in Keswick, this camp created a safe and supportive space for students to connect, learn positive mental health strategies, and focus on their well-being.

None of these successes would have been possible without the people who made it all happen. A heartfelt thank-you goes out to our dedicated staff, volunteers, schools, school support staff, our incredible campers, and their families. Your energy, support, and commitment helped us create a safe, fun, and unforgettable summer.

As we transition into fall, we want to wish all of our campers the very best as they head back to school. Remember to keep being strong, smart, and bold every day—you inspire us, and we can’t wait to see all you accomplish.

Looking Ahead:
While summer may be behind us, there is so much more to look forward to! Our fall and winter programs will soon be underway, offering exciting opportunities for girls to continue building confidence, exploring new interests, and developing lifelong skills. Stay tuned for updates—we can’t wait to see many familiar faces and welcome new ones in the seasons ahead.

With gratitude,

Girls Inc. of York Region
